Xenomorphs

So it seems that I’m becoming a xenomorph collector… You know, the alien in the Alien movies.

I’m not sure how it has happened, I stopped caring about figures and figurines when I hit puberty a few decades ago. However, about a year ago, I found a xenomorph figurine completely by chance and I instantly bought it. It had never crossed my mind that they even existed. And now, one year later, I just bought my third one!

Alien Xenomorph - Mezco Mez-itz

Ain’t it cute?

I don’t know what makes me want to buy them. Is it the fact that I live in Japan, the country of figurines? Or is it because now that I’m a dad, I tend to pay attention more to toys around me?

I’m not sure.

But the result is here, I have unwittingly started collecting Alien figures.

Check them out:

If you care about the references, here they are:

  • The smaller one, the one I just bought, is part of a set (with Kane and the Space Jockey) made by Mezco. It’s part of the Mez-itz line and if I understand correctly, as it dates from 2003, it’s pretty hard to find nowadays and I got very lucky (I found it totally randomly in a bookstore/novelty shop in Takamatsu where I live).
  • The medium size one is the Alien from the Revoltech line.
  • The bigger one is made by Three-B.

Oh and as they all came with facehuggers, I guess I started collecting them too. Not mentioning the chestburster that I bought for my daughter.
