Snow (Inktober 2019 – Day Eleven)

When I read the prompts for Inktober 2019 and saw that one of them was Snow, I instantly thought Jon Snow (of Game of Thrones fame if you live a life far from any TV or computer screen), not the frozen water falling from the sky in winter.

I don’t know about you, but I think that there are quite a few prompts that can be Game of Thrones-themed this year, as you may have already noticed with my take on Freeze.

So, I knew I wanted to draw Jon Snow, but I had no idea how to draw him properly. Remember, I’m not very good at drawing, and definitely not drawing people realistically.

But this whole Inktober this is about trying and getting out of my comfort zone, so I had to give it shot.

Here are my first attempts.

As you can see, they didn’t really go anywhere, except maybe one:

I drew it from a “chibi” Jon Snow I found online, but I have to admit that without hating it, I’m not a big fan of chibi versions of popular characters. Still, it was the only attempt that was workable with.

So, I redid, and from it, I tried something a bit more “realistic” (not sure if the term is appropriate):

Am I happy with it? No.

Can I do better? Probably not.

So, it will do.

I like what I did with the fur on his shoulders, so there is that.

Maybe I should have stuck with frozen water fallen from the sky…
