If you wonder what is the food item I miss the most from France when I spend extended time abroad (like recently, as I hadn’t set foot in my country in a little more than two years), my answer is without any hesitation: saucisson!

It is “just” dried sausage, but it is much more than that. It’s pretty indescribable if you’ve never had it, but just know that it’s one of the best food I know of, and sadly, it’s – to my knowledge – pretty much non-existent outside of Europe (although I had some once, in West Virginia, a long time ago).
