Bordeaux’s Grand Théâtre about a century ago.
To give you an idea what it looks like nowadays.
It hasn’t changed much. Interestingly the streets around it don’t look that different either nowadays, but the fact is that they have changed a lot in one century, however, the latest renovations about a decade ago, made them return to a previous look.

Wow – I just returned from a month in France. My husband is French. We spent 4 days in Bordeaux & Archacon with a couple I have been corresponding with for the last 2 years. We had lunch in the Grand Theatre. What a gorgeous city. We learned about the ‘cleaning’ of the fabulous buildings. Some have yet to be cleaned & the difference is so noticeable,
BTW Frenchman – I’m 65 & have been visiting France since I was 22. My niece, her partner (from France) & their 10 month old baby are now in France They live in Montreal where I grew up. My husband & I go to France every 2 years, Such a beautiful country.
Glad you liked Bordeaux.
I really miss it, and if I was to live in France again, I’ll definitely live near Bordeaux.
