At first, I wasn’t sure what to do with today’s Inktober prompt: Breakable.
The bottle from two days prior that got broken? Hmmm… Why not, but no.
Then, I thought, “Why not Mr. Glass?” (and if you do a small search online, you’ll see that I was not the only one with this idea) But the truth is that I’m totally and utterly unable to draw the great Samuel L. Jackson half-decently.
So, what could I draw?
And then, searching through my memories, the answer came to me.
First, the pencil sketch and then the “finished” drawing:
They’re not that different from each other, but I feel that they both have their own “vibe” (and I gotta admit that I like the pencil sketch better)
I said “finished” with quotation marks because I wanted to add more to it (related to my personal history?) but I have no idea how to do it, so for now, it’ll be finished.
Oh and in case you’re wondering, my personal history with this bone is that between the ages of 14 and 16, I had a condition (I think it’s called a “bone cyst” in English) near the top of my left humerus that weakened it greatly: I broke it four times over the course of three years. I had to have major surgery. It’s kinda better since (no broken bone for the following 30 years, so that counts for something I guess), but my left arm’s growth was stunted a little. It’s shorter and weaker. Now, you know everything (it’s not a secret, it’s just not something I really have the occasion to talk about these days).
