Bangladeshi Dinghy in Japan

Bangladeshi river boat

This is an authentic, hand built, Bangladeshi dinghy. However, I’ve never been to Bangladesh. Also, it’s a river boat, and here it’s sailing on saltwater.

It is a Bangladeshi Dinghy in Japan! And if you want to understand more what’s going on, may I advise you to click these two links:

  • about its construction.
  • about its launching.
  • (those links also contain hints as to why, I’m relatively quiet on the blog at the moment and probably until november)

Read both links and watched the videos. What a fascinating project! I appreciate your insighst into the importance of boats in some cultures. I hardly give them a thought except as vehicles of leisure, but now I’ll think of them in a different way.
